Good stuff!
Cream of wheat with milk. Cottage cheese in individual packages. Easy to eat, no chewing required, tasty, and great sources of calcium and iron.
I started eating oat bran after my surgery, with flax seeds and a little raw hone, and have made it a new habit. Its amazing what a great treat it is and how healthy it is. By the way, I'm curious about your numbness as I recall that a lot of your nubmness went away right after surgery. How is your numbness and what, if any, do you still have? Also, I wanted to comment that your pictures really look great! Whoever takes your pictures seems to be able to capture your mood. I do think its a great improvement over the long chin and the gummy smiles and I can imagine that it will take some time to get used to. I did read that Kelsie said she had a hard time with her new face (she had an 11 mm advancement (or maybe more) and that she felt she was looking at a stranger but that now she's used to her new look and that the old pictures to her now seem like a stranger. It is interesting how we adapt. I think you look adorable and more vulnerable! What does your boyfriend/husband (?) and your family think? Regards, Mary
Hey Mary, thanks for the compliment. Yes, I do still have a significant amount of numbness in my lower right lip and lower right chin. My upper right lip was numb, too, but the feelings have returned. Right now, if I press my lower right, it causes a tingling sensation. Read your blog.... Yes, it is disheartening to not be able to feel 100%. But I think it will come back, albeit slowly. Together we will wait. :)
My boyfriend didn't say anything about me looking more vulnerable. He is being politically correct, and he says oh I liked the way you looked before, that's the girl I went out with. But I like the way you look now, too. He says my profile looks great when my hair is up in a ponytail. :). One of my friends, however, did say that my face looks less hard and less angry now. That's good to know. :)
