New Kid on the Block

Introducing the newest member of the Cabbage Patch Kids - yours truly. ;) The swelling has gone down quite a bit... and the bruises are shining through. I've had friends asking me if that's some kind of yellow healing creme on my face! Hahahaha. Um, no. Just old fashioned bruises.

Hi Kristen,

You really are starting to look like you feel much better. When are you due to return to work?
I am fortunate that my husband, who is a firefighter/paramedic will be with me the entire time I'm off. I don't have to worry about the support as I too have a few friends in my corner. My mother and sister are in Tennessee and aren't aware of my surgery. My mother had a heart attack just a couple of months ago and I don't want her to worry. I might tell her about it afterwards. I spoke to her tonight and am hoping she doesn't call until I can speak. I asked if you lived alone because you sound as if you've been getting around pretty good and I didn't know if you were doing so on your own. Just trying to determine how much I'll need my husband. My OS told me a splint is a plastic piece that is used during surgery that separates the teeth. Some surgeons leave it in for a few days. The original surgeon I was going to use was going to leave it in until the Monday after surgery. The surgeon I'm actually using said he tries not to leave them in.
I was told the surgery will be between 3 and 4 hours...I'll give you an update afterwards. I think I have a vision of being in great pain for a long period of time so it's nice to see that someone is doing so well. I've been extremely busy trying to tie up loose ends at work and at home so I haven't had a chance to read a whole lot on the board but what I have gotten to seems to be from people that have taken quite a while to heal. I'm hoping that I will speed along like you have as I am the only person in my office and I take care of all accounting functions as well as anything else that needs to be done :) In other words they are counting on me to return real soon.
Ok, more questions. 1. Are you driving yet? 2. How were you feeling when you went out the other day--you looked well. 3. Have you slept alot--in the beginning? Are you sleeping a lot now? I know I had other questions because I was thinking about them on my way home from the gym tonight but once again my mind is tired. Hope it's alright with you....but I'll think of them and get back to you tomorrow. Thanks again for the chats!! They've really made me feel better. Of course I'm sure I'll be a wreck tomorrow :0 I do hope that someone has given you the support that you've given me!
