Wow Kristen, what amazing results!
I think I have to agree with Mrs Shanton as well ... I can't see any residual swelling in your latest photos. Perhaps your friend's Mother noticed your fuller cheekbones?
And maybe it's the overall relative positioning of your face now. I really don't see any swelling. I think people just use weight as their descriptor because it's the first thing that comes to mind. I had people say they thought I had both gained and lost weight. It's pretty random. ...BTW You look fabulous in dark colours!
Not to be rude, but maybe she is just a freakin moron. I bet if you would've said....really offended like "NO! I just had double jaw surgery" she would've changed her tune and maybe realized what the change was.
I agree with Graham, that when people can't really figure out what is different they automatically assume it must be weight related. I don't see any residual swelling either and think your look MARVELOUS! Some people are just clueless....don't let it bug you.
Kristen, you look terrific and with the swelling having gone down a bit, I can see more of a similarity to how you used to look. Can you do a side-by-side before and after? And how is your numbness. Mary

I am 7th week post op and still having some residual swellings! How did u de-swell so fast?
I thought I had de-swelled although my nose did look funny (meaty that is..) but my surgeon say I still have 30-40% more of de-swelling to do.
He mentioned one will only know the "real" look you will have to live with the rest of your life after 3 months..so I guess...there's probably still a bit of swellings left.
I guess different people see it differently. Some of my friends say I am still puffy while some say it seemed I have de-swelled.
Hey Kristen....I agree with the others. I don't see ANY swelling what-so-ever. You look great!
Question for you....do you still have any numbness? I still have quite a bit of numbness and tingling to the point of still not being able to put my face under the spray in the shower. Just wondering if you were experiencing any of that? Thanks. Kim
